DIY Update A Brass Light Strip Fixture

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, In : diy

Where you perform your skin care routine is just as important as your skin care routine itself. So I decided to see if I could do something to the outdated Hollywood-style brass light strip fixture. It turned out to be so incredibly easy, I wish I'd done it a long time ago.

I've included detailed instructions below. If you try this project, or something similar, I'd love to hear about your experience. Be sure to leave me a comment and let me know.

DIY Gifts From The Heart

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Monday, December 3, 2018, In : diy

candy cane heart

While you're racing around this holiday season trying to find the right gifts, remember that the ones that have the most value are the ones that come from the heart.

Hanging on my bulletin board in my studio is a magazine clipping from ©Family Circle magazine, circa mid-1990's. It has great gift ideas from Meghan (Yudes) Meyers that are sure to be invaluable to your recipients. Some of the ideas are a little dated, but it's fun taking a trip to the past, and the sentiment is still the...

Platform Bed DIY

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Saturday, June 17, 2017, In : diy

Would you like a platform bed without the expense? All you need is a black fitted sheet and some black card stock.

diy platform bed
I was tired of the bed skirt on our bed so I took it off and put a black fitted sheet on the box spring, but I needed a way to hide the unattractive castors of the bed frame.

After noodling on a solution for a while I came up with the idea of taking four pieces of black card stock for the four legs of the bed frame, trimming them to the proper height, and folding them ...

DIY Quick Tip - Hanging Curtains

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Friday, April 28, 2017, In : diy

To say I'm obsessed with 3M™ Command™ products is an understatement. I use them for everything. This time I used the Large Brushed Nickel Hooks and some cafe rods to hang valances. It's super-easy to hang any lightweight curtain or valance and, my favorite part, you don't have to drill holes in the wall.

Diy Side Table Makeover

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Sunday, March 5, 2017, In : diy

side tables

These hand-me-down tables from my sister have taken a beating through the years but I figured they still had a lot of life left in them. I've been sprucing up my living room, and with it being a smaller space I knew these narrow tables would work well as end tables but after years of use they were in desperate need of an update.

Wanting to stick to a makeover budget, and being the lazy DIY-er that I am, I didn't want to spend more time or money than necessary. But I think my (lack of) ...

How To Spot Clean A Microfiber Couch

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Monday, January 9, 2017, In : diy

microfiber couch

We're in the midst of redecorating our living room and last week we purchased a new couch set (sofa set? tomayto, tomahto?). I was so excited to get the new furniture. It was our first time to purchase microfiber and the one thing I didn't consider, and didn't even realize until we got the furniture home is that our dog, Chanel, drools in her sleep. How unladylike! So our options seemed to be either get rid of the furniture (never!), get rid of the dog (Chanel would never allow that), or...

DIY Docking Station

Republished from an earlier post

4-panel basket

Necessity is the mother of all invention. I was tired of seeing all the charging cords laying on my counter, so I found an old basket in the closet, shoved the cords through the back, and voila. A docking station that took all of 60 seconds to make.
